it’s murph
The power of music is multi-sensory, and it’s murph wants his music to do more than just catch your attention. With each note, it’s murph aims to unlock something within the listener, whether it’s an emotion, a memory, or an experience; the listener is welcomed to immerse themself into his music.
Hailing from Nashville, it’s murph, alias of producer Garrett Murphy, is making a splash in the dance world with his euphoric melodies, gritty baselines and sonically expansive atmospheres. His production draws in elements of tech, bass, and heavy dance inspired by artists such as Fred Again…, Cloonee, Chris Lake and Flume.
Getting his feet wet with his first release in collaboration with RSCL & Twin Diplomacy, “Lost” has amassed over 120 million streams and was heavily added into SXM’s BPM daily rotation. In February 2023, it’s murph released his debut solo single “Food For The Soul.” The track has since garnered over 34 million streams, landing on editorial playlists such as Spotify’s mint, big on the internet, Housewerk etc. Alongside the track murph created a viral social media moment, landing “Food For The Soul” in the top 3 of the Viral 50 US chart. Growing up in a musical household, it’s murph was exposed to various types of music from a young age, taking piano lessons and singing in school choir.
In high school, he was exposed to electronic music at a Porter Robinson concert where he fell in love with the ambience that electronic music generated. Wanting to provide that same feeling for others while on stage, he began learning to produce as a sophomore in high school. Upon high school graduation, he moved to LA to attend the University of Southern California. it’s murph then fell in love with the never ending energetic groove of house music, making music with his friends in between classes, DJing parties and utilizing social media to share his tracks. After his debut performance at Coachella’s DoLab, it’s murph graduated from USC and continues building on his streaming success with additional performances at Hangout Music Festival, Splash House, Breakaway Music Festival, HARD Summer, Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, Lightning in a Bottle, Electric Forest, Creamfields, Leeds, a residency at the Wynn in Las Vegas, and sold out headline shows across the US.
Levity
Hey, our names are John, Pj, and Josh, but u can call us Levity. All 3 of us grew up in different parts of the US but we’re based in Chicago, IL. We love making and playing a lot of different styles of electronic music (mostly bass music) and like to bring a lot of fun energy on stage at our shows.
We’ve been making music for a long time now, but are on our 6th year with this project and 2023 was by far our biggest year yet. We’re excited to build a loving and fun community while we keep building this project into what we’ve dreamed of it, and we’re always gonna look out for who is most important to us (you!) so welcome and hope you enjoy our music 🙂
