Seven Lions

Producer Seven Lions has never had a problem breaking rules and transcending musical boundaries to satisfy his creative vision. Catching his break after winning a Beatport remix contest in 2012 with his dubstep-focused version of Above & Beyond’s “You Got to Go”, Seven Lions (born Jeff Montalvo) has trailblazed a career spanning more than ten years.

He’s released music on everything from major labels like Republic’s Casablanca imprint, to Anjunabeats, Skrillex’s OWSLA, and his very own label, Ophelia. Along the way he’s released genre specific hits like Strangers with Tove Lo, Rush Over Me with Illenium, Said the Sky, and Haliene, First Time with Dylan Matthew, SLANDER, and NGHTMRE, and Need Your Love with Gryffin and Noah Kahan. His musical achievements came to a crescendo in 2022, when he released his first ever album 10 years into his career (having always opted for EPs prior), entitled Beyond the Veil. The record features vocalists like  Lights and Vancouver Sleep Clinic as well as dance music singer/songwriters Mija, GG Magree and JT Roach are featured on the record, which delves into dance pop, downtempo, acoustic, house, ambient and cross-genre territory.

Touring wise, few electronic acts have withstood the test of time like Seven Lions, who as of 2023, stands as one of the most successful and bankable electronic touring artists out there. His spring 2023 album tour saw him sell out massive venues like Tacoma Dome (12k), LA State Historic Park (18K), The Greek Theatre Berkeley (8k), and Rady Shell San Diego (8k). He’s sold out multiple Red Rocks dates, and is a bona fide headliner act on festivals like Ultra Music Festival, Electric Daisy Carnival Las Vegas, Electric Forest, Electric Zoo, Bonnaroo, Ilesoniq, and HARD. He also has his very own artist festival called Chronicles, which will see its 4th iteration in 2024 in the Pacific Northwest.

The Seven Lions world continues to expand through Ophelia Records, his own melodic bass label that has made it’s imprint through several scene-leading releases like Seven Lions, SLANDER, and Dabin Feat. Dylan Matthew – First Time, Seven Lions & Jason Ross – Ocean, Seven Lions, Excision, and Wooli Feat. Dylan Matthew- Another Me, and Seven Lions, Dabin, and Trivecta Feat. Nevve – Island. The label has become synonymous with homegrown, cream of the crop melodic bass music, and is undoubtedly the label that the rest of the melodic bass scene looks towards for up and coming acts and tour worthy anthems. To date, the label has amassed a catalogue with over one billion total streams.
